Why are ImageCast™ plaques unique?
ImageCast™ plaques are the only plaques available that combine the art of casting with the use of photography to reproduce finely-detailed photo images on cast bronze plaques.

What is the difference between the ImageCast™ Collage and Legacy Series and Medallion Portraits?
The differences between the three lines include:
The Collage plaques are a premium product for recognition, signage, historical markers or any form of identification that tells a pictorial story. The entire plaque includes photo images with the inscription over the imaged area.

The Legacy Series includes a separate text area. Standard or custom background finishes can be applied to the text area.

Medallion Portraits enable customers to reproduce favorite photographs in bronze. They offer the durability of cast bronze, are economically priced, can be added to any standard or custom size cast plaque. They feature an elegant antique finish that is a beautiful complement to any standard of custom background finish on the plaque.

In which finishes are ImageCast™ plaques available?
The Collage Series plaques are offered in Antique finish. Legacy Series plaques feature Antique finish on the area where the photo images are cast while any standard or custom background can be selected for the text area. Medallion Portraits are offered in the Antique finish.

Are there size limitations?
Yes. Due to production techniques, the maximum size for individual plaques is currently 6′ x 3′. For larger projects, plaques can be cast in a series.

Is Diamond Shield® applied to ImageCast™ plaques?
Yes. ImageCast™ plaques are coated with patented Diamond Shield® Protective Coating.

How many photos can be used on the ImageCast™ plaques?
The number of photos depends on the size of the plaque – and ultimately what is aesthetically pleasing. Your Saxton Architectural Signage Coordinator.

Who is responsible for arranging the photos on the ImageCast™ plaques?
Saxtons employs a staff of graphic designers who create the designs from customer supplied photographs.

How do we ensure that the most important photos will receive prominence in the design Saxton artists create?
Saxton asks our customers to “rank the photographs in order of importance” with #1 being the most important such as #1 – Building exterior, #2 – musical instruments, etc. Customers are supplied with proofs and before any plaque is placed into production customers must provide written approval.

Do the photos supplied for the ImageCast™ plaques require any special handling?
Photos are to be placed between two pieces of cardboard for mailing. They should never be stapled or paper clipped to instruction sheets. Photos can be submitted via mail, email or on a CD or zip disk.

Can photos be sent in frames for added security in shipping?
No. Photos must be removed from mountings and frames before they are shipped to Saxton

Can black and white photos be used for the ImageCast™ plaques?
Yes. Black and white photos can be used along with color pictures. Please refer to the Requirements for ImageCast™ Photographs link for more detailed information.

Can photocopies be used for the ImageCast™ plaques?
No. Photocopies cannot be used. It is important to remember that the highest quality photos will produce the highest quality cast image. Please refer to the Requirements for ImageCast™ Photographs link for more detailed information.

Can portions of a photo be omitted before the image is cast on the ImageCast™ plaque?
Yes. If only a portion of the photo is to be used, that portion must be clearly specified.

Can digital photos be used?
Yes. Digital photos can be used. If your scanner software offers the option of Preview or Pre-Scan, choose this feature so unnecessary portions of the photo can be cropped. Plus, this reduces the size of the file.

If using digital images, which resolution is preferred?
Choose a resolution of 150 dpi – 300 dpi for a standard size photo (approximately 3.5” x 5”).

For digital images, which formats are accepted?
Saxton accepts EPS, PSD, JPEG and TIFF files.

Where should the photographs be sent for the ImageCast™ plaques?

Can vertical and horizontal orientations be used for Medallion Portraits?
