General Cast letters are manufactured using sand molds in our state-of-the-art foundry from raw ingot alloyed in the following materials:
Cast Bronze Equivalent to Copper Development Association Alloy C92200; 88% copper, 6% tin, 4% zinc, 2% lead.
Yellow Brass Alloy # 406; 58% copper, 40% zinc, less than 1 % each tin and lead.
Aluminum - Satin or Baked Enamel Finishes Cast from Aluminum Association Alloy Designation C443.2.
Aluminum - Anodized Finishes Cast from Aluminum Association Alloy Designation A514.2.
Helpful Hints
Both cast bronze and cast brass letters are protected with a clear protective coating prior to shipping, however, cast brass is not recommended for exterior use.
Although casting alloys of aluminum can be anodized, because of the inherent nature of the sand casting process, an anodized finish is not recommended for cast products.
